The Webster Tube, which leads from Oakland into Alameda, will be closed overnight on Wednesday, August 16, for maintenance work. The tube will remain open during the day on Wednesday but will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 17.
Those who are driving/returning to Alameda during those hours will need to take an alternate route onto the island. Detours will be in place at the Webster Tube, and California Highway Patrol officers will be in place to assist motorists.
The Posey Tube will remain open, so traffic from Alameda to Oakland will not be affected.
