Webster Tube Closed Tonight

Maintenance work scheduled, Posey Tube will remain open

Caltrans has scheduled an overnight closure of the Webster Tube—State Route 61 from Oakland into Alameda— for tonight, Wednesday, January 17, starting at 10 p.m. and reopening at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow, January 18.

Both the Webster Tube (entering Alameda) and Posey Tube (leaving Alameda) will remain open during the day. The purpose of the Webster Tube closure is to accommodate maintenance work. Work may be postponed if it rains. Check Alameda Post‘s weather page for current conditions and the forecast.

During the overnight closure of the Webster Tube, traffic control measures will be in place. Changeable message and directional signs will assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the sites during the closures.

Please drive with caution. Slow down where orange cones are present.
