Get ready for the fun! Alameda’s Fourth Annual Pride celebration, themed “Together We Rise,” kicks off on Saturday morning, October 11, and continues throughout the day and evening with live music, dancing, food, fun, and vendor booths throughout Downtown Alameda streets and parks. This year, Alameda’s Pride celebration coincides with National Coming Out Day, which happens every October 11, celebrating those who choose to publicly acknowledge being a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
It all starts with a colorful 5K Fun Run/Walk for All Ages that begins at the Elks Lodge, followed by the festive family-friendly Pride in the Park in Chochenyo Park, and a Block Party afterward on Alameda Avenue.
Pride 5K Fun Run/Walk for all Ages
The festivities officially begin at 9 a.m. with the Pride 5K Fun Run/Walk for All Ages, which starts at the Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue, passes through the streets of Alameda, and returns to the Elks Lodge.
Participants will run or walk down Santa Clara Avenue to Grand Street, left on Grand Street to Shore Line Drive, left on Shore Line Drive to Willow Street, left on Willow Street to Santa Clara Avenue, and then right on Santa Clara Avenue back to the Elks Lodge.

This untimed run/walk is truly just for fun—costumes and festive outfits are encouraged. It’s all about community, celebration, and supporting a great cause. Every participant will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag, plus bottled water and a protein box provided by Starbucks. And there are prizes!
Register online by October 9 or at Alameda Elks Lodge at 8 a.m. on October 11. The fee to participate is $50. Funds from this race will help with inclusivity, diversity, and support for our community, including anti-bullying programs and GSA’s in schools, LGBTQ+ scholarships, local LGBTQ+ businesses, organizations, and programs, the Queer Teen Center and more. Alameda Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Pride in the Park
One of Alameda’s most popular events, Pride in the Park, starts at noon at Chochenyo Park, 2430 Encinal Avenue. This free family-and-pet-friendly event is for all ages.
The park is usually packed for the festive event, where you can enjoy music and entertainment from local performers, a Kidz Zone, many vendors, good eats from food trucks, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and more.
The San Francisco Pride Band will welcome you to the park for the first 45 minutes of the event, followed by many other don’t-miss entertainment acts throughout the day, including Dance/10 Performing Arts Center, two drag shows with Vicky Sparkle-Titz & Friends, the Oakland Gay Men’s Chorus, and Airwaves.
Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, and note that no outside alcohol, coolers, or glass is allowed.
Parking will be limited, and if you’re driving please don’t use Park Avenue. There is a parking ramp on Central Avenue and Oak Street that is walkable. Also consider public transit, rideshare, and biking. A bicycle valet will be available.
The event ends at 5 p.m.
Block Party
You’ll have plenty of time to walk or bike from Chochenyo Park to the Block Party that starts at 6 p.m. on Alameda Avenue between Park and Oak streets. This all-ages, free event will feature DJ Dave Stebbins spinning your favorite hits. Get ready to dance, celebrate, and have a guaranteed good time. Meet us there!
