Ramiro & Sons Reopens Saturday as Taqueria Mi Burrito

The wait is over! Alameda’s old-school neighborhood taqueria, Ramiro & Sons, is reopening after more than two months on Saturday, March 18, under the guidance of longtime manager—now owner—Juan Garcia.

Located at 2321 Alameda Ave., the taqueria is an institution here in town. The name has changed to Taqueria Mi Burrito, but everything else is exactly the same as it has been since 1985. The menu, the cooks, the ambience, and even the vintage sign in front are the same. The only difference is that it’s no longer cash-only—cards are now welcome as payment.

Garcia has been working at the taqueria since he was 15 years old, so he knows exactly what his customers want. Stop by on Saturday and see for yourself. Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Check out our full feature on the taqueria, its history, and the story of how a hardworking young employee eventually became its owner.
