Launch Sets Sail: Alameda’s New Waterfront Residences

Launch, a newly unveiled residential development, marks the first building to be delivered as part of the Alameda Marina Master Plan. The project, which has been in the works for over a decade, is one of the first waterside developments to be completed on the island in the last 50 years. Its purpose is to play a critical role in reconnecting the community with its waterfront and breathe new life into the previously underutilized water’s edge.

Pacific Development, in collaboration with PGIM Real Estate, is behind the Launch project, which features 368 elevated residences on the island of Alameda’s marina coastline. The development, located along Clement Avenue between Schiller Street and Alameda Marina Drive, encompasses 500,000 square feet of living space across five stories.

The Alameda Marina Master Plan envisions a revitalized waterfront with 1.2 million square feet of mixed-use development spanning over 44 acres. Upon completion, the Master Plan will offer 530 marina slips, approximately 3.59 acres of public parkland, up to 760 new residential units, and 104 deed-restricted affordable housing units in a walkable environment.

“We are thrilled to be opening this brand new building in Alameda, welcoming residents to their homes right on the Oakland Estuary,” said Sean Murphy, Partner at Pacific Development. “Launch will offer increased access to the waterfront and outdoor amenities with unparalleled views of the Alameda Marina, and Oakland and San Francisco skylines, as well as a chance to be a part of the historic Alameda Island community within a new, modern setting.”
