Need to use a laptop but don’t have one? The Alameda Free Library has launched a new Laptop Lending Program to bring the power of computing directly to community members.
The Laptop Lending Program offers laptops for loan at the Main Library, West End Branch, and Bay Farm Island Branch. Anyone who doesn’t have a computer at home can now check out a laptop for up to three days. It’s perfect for:
- Learning new skills. Brush up your resume, take online courses, or prepare for that big certification exam.
- Staying connected. Video chat with loved ones, manage social media, or finally conquer that online job application.
- Entertainment on the go. Stream movies, catch up on the latest shows, or explore the wonders of the internet.
Plus, the library’s popular Wi-Fi hotspots are the perfect companions for these loaner laptops, which means every library branch is a free mobile workstation.
Here’s the best part: Borrowed laptops automatically erase all personal information upon restart, ensuring your privacy is always protected.
Ready to check one out? Laptops are now available for loan and can even be reserved and placed on hold. Visit your local branch or the Alameda Free Library website for more details. Our libraries are bridging the digital divide, one laptop at a time.
