ARPD program follows the Four Basic building blocks of the school readiness pyramid as designed by First 5 of California, which includes Self-Care & Motor Skills, Self-Regulation, Social Expression, and Academics.

Activities include storytelling, games, arts and crafts, cooking, music, motor fitness, and the development of gross and fine motor skills. These will all aid in the development of the lower tiers of the pyramid as well as prepare for Kindergarten readiness. Special theme days and activities are also included in the curriculum to help children grow and develop healthy minds and bodies. All children need to be potty-trained by the first day of class.

ARPD’s classes offers a viable choice for families in Alameda including those families who have chosen to homeschool their children. Participation in this program will help develop strong social skills and expressions. Classes are offered at McKinley Park, 2165 Buena Vista Ave.; Woodstock Park, 355 Cypress St.; Godfrey Park, 281 Beach Rd., Bay Farm Island; and Leydecker Park, 3221 Mecartney Rd., Bay Farm Island.  Check the program flyer (2-page PDF) for class information.
