When Daphne first arrived at the shelter, it was obvious she hadn’t had the easiest start in life and wasn’t in the best physical condition. Despite that, she never allowed whatever challenges she previously had faced to dim her joyful spirit. From day one, she greeted everyone with a wagging tail, a happy grin, and an eagerness to make new friends.
Today, Daphne is thriving and showing everyone exactly who she is—a playful, affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She’s the kind of dog who believes there is no such thing as too many pets and that every lap was made just for cuddling. If you’re sitting down, don’t be surprised if Daphne happily climbs up beside you to soak up all the love she can get.
She enjoys getting out for walks, where she’s a wonderful companion who is learning more and more leash manners every day. Whether she’s exploring the neighborhood or tossing around a favorite toy in the yard, Daphne approaches every adventure with enthusiasm. And if you happen to have a few treats in your pocket, you’ll have her full attention in an instant. This smart girl is incredibly food-motivated and eager to learn.
Daphne’s resilience is inspiring. She could have let her difficult past define her, but instead she chooses happiness every single day. She reminds us that love, kindness, and a second chance can make all the difference. You can meet Daphne at FAAS, 1590 Fortmann Way, Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed daily from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for naptime.
