Cheyenne is on the Run… to Your Home

Pet of the Week for May 11, 2024

Our Pet of the Week Cheyenne is a high-octane dog with a get-up-and-go attitude. Cheyenne’s right-flopping ears give her such personality! They make her look like she’s perennially interested in something to that side. Either that, or there’s always a strong wind blowing in from her left folding them over and complimenting her smile.

This high-energy two-year-old runner is super smart too. FAAS has described her as “too smart for her own good sometimes. She needs more mental stimulation to really thrive.” Cheyenne seems to really enjoy her training sessions and has been described as very focused and fun to work with. FAAS will offer reimbursement for up to $200 of dog training, and whoever adopts her should make sure to take advantage of this and continue enhancing her mental gymnastics through regular training.

Cheyenne might not be a warm and fuzzy dog who becomes your immediate BFF, but, once she gets a chance to know you better, she will be very loving and sweet. She loves to play, especially with toys she can grab and thrash around.

Overall, the best fit for this busy girl would be a home with no young children or other pets, and an adopter who has experience with a larger (over 50 lbs.) dog. When she’s out and about, she is reactive to other dogs, but she may be easily redirected with treats. She will be a perfect companion for your active lifestyle!

Come and visit Cheyenne at FAAS any day but Monday, from 12-4 p.m. at the FAAS main shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way. Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters event, her adoption fees are only $25 until May 15.
