Brady is Just Waiting to Brighten Your Day

Pet of the Week for May 2, 2026

Two-year-old Brady has been waiting for just the right person. A black and blue merle Australian Cattle Dog and Labrador Retriever mix, he’s a handsome boy with a working-dog brain, soulful eyes, and a whole lot of heart just waiting to be unlocked by the right person.

He comes with a bit of a stranger-danger sense, so he takes time to check out the situation and decide on his own terms when he’s ready to let you in. But when he does—as FAAS staff will confirm—you’ll find that underneath his cautious exterior is one of the sweetest, most gentle boys around. He already has a fan club among the people who know him best, and it keeps growing.

Brady is highly trainable and eager to please. He picks things up quickly and thrives on consistency, patience, and daily training that gives his busy mind something to chew on. Open space, puzzle toys, and ideally a job to do would make a world of difference for him.

He’s best suited for an experienced dog owner who understands that dogs who ask the most of you tend to give back the most too. Brady is one of those dogs. He just needs the right person to believe in him.

If you’re patient, active, and ready for a loyal companion who will grow into something truly special—Brady is ready and waiting for you.

To meet Brady, give FAAS a call at 510-337-8565. The shelter at 1590 Fortmann Way is open Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Nap time is 1 to 2 p.m. daily.)
