Alameda Free Library Launches Card Design Contest

The Alameda Free Library is calling on all community members to help celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month by designing a new library card. The Heart of the Community Contest invites residents of all ages to submit their original design for a chance to be featured on a new, limited edition library card.

The contest is open to Alameda residents 4 years of age and older who have an Alameda Free Library card. Participants are encouraged to let their creativity shine by designing a card that captures the spirit of the theme, “The Alameda Free Library is the Heart of the Community.”

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges in four age categories: 4-8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18+. Winning designs will be chosen based on originality, creativity, reproducibility, and neatness.

To enter, contestants can pick up an official entry form and guidelines at any of the three library locations: Main Library, West End Library, or Bay Farm Island Library. All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30.

For more information, including full contest details, visit the Alameda Free Library Card Design webpage or call the library at 510-747-7777.
