“Get ready to have your hearts stolen!”
That’s the warning Alameda Police Department (APD) issued in its headline to announce its newest recruits—K9 Davey and K9 Sadie. And they were not wrong. Those two dogs are absolutely adorable, as is obvious in the latest APD video on Facebook.

“K9 Davey, named in honor of fallen APD Officer Rob Davey, Jr., and K9 Sadie are already jumping for joy as they join K9 Ace to help protect our community,” APD noted.
This community loves its police pups and can’t wait to meet these new ones.
“For the next month, these two pups will focus on bonding with their new handlers before diving into their training,” APD stated. “Until then, they are busy perfecting the important skills of making friends, exploring the City, and grabbing the community’s attention.”
Does that mean we might actually see them around town soon? The community certainly hopes so. People immediately fell in love with the new K9s seen in the video, offering welcoming comments and asking to meet them.

“Can we have a meet and greet event with our K9 officers? Plzzzz!” one person commented.
“Oh my! Pull me over so I can say hi!” another person added.
“Love that one is named in honor of Officer Davey,” a commenter wrote. “They are precious.”
Hopefully we all will get a chance to see our new police pups around town. And we thoroughly agree with APD: “Welcome, K9 Davey and K9 Sadie! We are so happy to have you.”
