AC Transit Bus Line 19 service to Fruitvale BART and downtown Oakland will be detoured for two weeks—May 4 through 17—due to East Bay Municipal Utility District pipeline construction (see map).
EBMUD’s contractor is installing 24-inch steel pipelines in Alameda to connect the new crossing to existing transmission mains, improve the hydraulic connectivity between Alameda and Oakland, and ensure reliable water to the island.
A closure at the intersection of Sherman Street and Buena Vista Avenue, and then a closure on Sherman Street from Buena Vista Avenue to Eagle Avenue will affect AC Transit Bus Line 19. Buses traveling via Atlantic Avenue into Clement Avenue will turn right at Entrance Road, and then left turn on Buena Vista Avenue back to the regular route.
Closed bus stops and alternatives
During the two-week Line 19 bus detour, two stops will be closed.
Line 19 to Fruitvale BART will not stop on Buena Vista Avenue at Sherman Street (Stop ID 51525). Alternative stops will be Buena Vista Avenue at Stanton Street (Stop ID 51723) or Atlantic Avenue at Triumph Drive (Stop ID 56717).
Line 19 to Downtown Oakland will not stop on Sherman Street at Buena Vista Avenue (Stop ID 52304). Alternatives stops will be Buena Vista Avenue at Stanton Street (Stop ID 51725) or Atlantic Avenue at Wind River Way (Stop ID 56707).
