Closure Alert: Shoreline Park Trail Partially Closed April 29 – May 10

One segment of the Shoreline Park waterfront trail—from the Bay Farm Ferry Terminal leading up to Creedon Circle—will be closed from April 29 through May 10 while the City widens and repaves the trail. Many young people use these trails as they travel to and from school.

The trail work will eliminate hazardous conditions and create a smooth walking and riding surface. Pedestrians and cyclists are warned to use extra caution in the area.

During both phases of the trail work, pedestrians and cyclists must avoid using the sidewalk on the north side of Robert Davey Jr. Drive, from Puddingstone Road to Packet Landing Road, since the EBMUD project at the Packet Landing corner has closed this crosswalk.

Marked detours are in place (see map below) for Adelphian Way to Creedon Circle.

“We are working hard to finish the work quickly and will open the improved trail sooner (than May 10) if possible,” Alameda Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) stated in its notice. ARPD suggested that those who normally use this route check out the Bikewalk Alameda Bike Map for planning an alternate route during the closure.

After this project is completed, other trail segments on Bay Farm will be repaired as well. In the meantime, those who use the trail are asked to report service requests to SeeClickFix. Other City alerts and advisories are available on the City of Alameda Alerts web page.
