Mark your calendars!
Alameda Police Department (APD) is inviting all of us to the first-ever All-Island Community Beat Meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 5 to 8 p.m., at Mastick Senior Center, 1155 Santa Clara Avenue.
Residents and businesses will join APD officers for “an evening focused on public safety and neighborhood partnerships,” the department noted in its invitation on Facebook.
“The evening will begin with a citywide crime overview, providing updates on current public safety trends and crime patterns in the City of Alameda,” APD stated. “Afterward, attendees can join breakout sessions to meet with beat officers and commanders to discuss neighborhood concerns and crime prevention strategies tailored to their specific beat.”
There will also be a display of APD’s specialized equipment and vehicles, including:
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
- Emergency Response Vehicle.
- Crisis Negotiations Vehicle.
Plus, for those who want to add a furry family member—or just can’t resist petting them—APD’s Animal Control Officers will be there with Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) to host onsite pet adoptions during the event.
This is a great opportunity to meet the officers who serve your neighborhood, ask questions, learn about public safety initiatives, and, if you are able to, provide a safe home for a new furry friend.
