The California State Senate Rules Committee appointed Alameda resident Mike Henneberry to the San Francisco Bay Ferry Board of Directors. Henneberry joined the Board at its August 14 meeting.

Henneberry is the Recording Secretary for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 853, serves on the Alameda Labor Council Executive Committee, and is a former Chair of the Alameda Planning Board.
“We’re so pleased to welcome Mike Henneberry to the SF Bay Ferry Board, where we know his passionate commitment to the local workforce and focus on increased quality of life for Bay Area residents will improve the agency,” said Jim Wunderman, Chair of the Board of the Directors.
Henneberry replaces Jeff DelBono, a retired Alameda fire division chief, on the Board. DelBono served on the Board from 2014 until he stepped down this summer. Wunderman said DelBono “should feel proud of the legacy he leaves behind. His work on behalf of this Board has provided an unmistakable contribution to the success of San Francisco Bay Ferry, and we will miss him.”
Henneberry’s father and grandfather both worked as mariners, and his father proposed to his mother onboard a ferry in the San Francisco Bay.
“I’m so grateful to the Senate Rules Committee for the appointment to this important Board,” Henneberry said. “I look forward to working with my fellow Directors and the SF Bay Ferry staff to continue its growth as one of the region’s leading transit operators.”
The SF Bay Ferry Board of Directors is a five-member body. Three members, including the chair and vice chair, are appointed by the governor. One member is appointed by the Senate Rules Committee and one by the Assembly Speaker. The Board of Directors is the policymaking body for the agency.
Henneberry will serve the remainder of DelBono’s vacated term, which expires on January 1, 2030. He joins Chair Wunderman, Vice Chair Monique Moyer, Director Jessica Alba, and Director Pippin Dew on the Board.
