Windermere Bay Area Properties of Alameda announced this week that it has donated $3,000 to the Alameda Boys & Girls Club. The contribution, made through the Windermere Foundation, underscores the company’s dedication to investing in the future leaders of our community, a company spokesperson said.

The donation will directly support the Boys & Girls Club’s programs and initiatives, which ensure that children and teens from Alameda and the East Bay have access to essential resources, mentorship, and guidance.
Real estate agent Catherine Bierwith, who heads up the program for the company’s Alameda office, noted that their Foundation has been dedicated to helping low-income and homeless families, with a special emphasis on supporting children, for more than 30 years. “Every agent contributes a portion of their commission to the Windermere Foundation,” Bierwith said.
Another of their agents, Sally Anne Rudloff, has a deep connection to the Alameda Boys & Girls Club. In 2011, when she served as president of the Club, she led a successful $10 million capital building campaign to construct a 25,000-square-foot center for the club.
“Despite doubts, our community rallied, and today, the Club stands as a vibrant hub where kids flourish,” Rudloff said. “This bustling center remains a testament to our shared commitment to nurturing generations of Alameda’s youth.”
Kari Barnes, who currently serves as the Boys & Girls Club’s director of resource development and marketing, said, “We are incredibly grateful to Windermere Bay Area Properties of Alameda for their generous support. Their contribution will enable us to expand our reach and provide even more young people with the tools and opportunities they need to excel personally, academically, and professionally. Together, we are building a brighter future for our community’s youth and ensuring that their great futures start at the Club.”
Since 1949, Alameda Boys & Girls Club has been more than just a place for recreation. It provides activities and experiences that enrich the lives of young people in our community and involves them in wholesome activities that build their self-esteem and self-worth. The Club teaches them the value of responsibility and respect, empowers children to make good life choices, and gives every youth the chance they deserve to have a great future by providing the tools and support they need to achieve their dreams.
