Sunny Spring Shindig a Success

Hundreds of happy Alamedans attended the Spring Shindig on Saturday, April 15. The sunny, crisp spring weather was perfect for the community event, hosted by the Alameda Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) and spread across the Alameda Point gym and its fields. The Alice in Wonderland theme was especially popular with kids and families, who found many activities to enjoy, from bounce houses, archery, basketball, and arts & crafts to booths representing local businesses and organizations.

Some of the highlights of the booths included a fighter jet cockpit from the USS Hornet Museum, a huge aquarium of local fish from East Bay Regional Parks, and adoptable dogs from Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS). The Alameda Post was also in attendance; our booth was located between the Alameda Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

Please enjoy the following photos from the event, taken by Alameda Post Staff.
