The Rotary Club of Alameda raised more than $10,000 to benefit its Community Grant program at a fundraising event on Friday, March 14, at the Elks Club. The “Win-Win” event drew over 100 attendees who enjoyed a delicious lobster dinner prepared by Asena Restaurant and live music from Bay Station Band.

The evening’s program focused on supporting the Community Grant program, which funds approximately 20 Alameda nonprofit organizations each year. Representatives from past grant recipients, including the Boys & Girls Club, Girls Inc., Friends of the Parks, and The Feather House Foundation, spoke to attendees, detailing how the grants have benefited their organizations and expressing their gratitude for the Rotary Club’s ongoing support.
In addition to the dinner, the fundraiser featured both a dessert auction and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses. The event raised more than $10,000, all of which will be awarded to local Alameda nonprofits. Attendees enjoyed the evening while supporting the community. ASTI Interact Club members were an invaluable help with setup and serving in a very professional manner.
With a motto of “Service Above Self,” the Rotary Club of Alameda seeks to improve our community and the world by supporting students and local nonprofits, beautifying our parks, protecting our environment, feeding the hungry, assisting new immigrants, doing good in the world with international projects, and eradicating polio.
