The Kiwanis Club of Alameda is proud to offer financial support to Rhythmix Cultural Works through the Kiwanis Foundation Grants program, with money earned during their annual January fundraiser.

This fall, Rhythmix presented four Performance, Art, and Learning (PAL) shows for Alameda County students: Chika Di – Music of Colombia, Sewam American Indian Dance, Manilatown Ancestral Ensemble, and Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Carlos Moreno.
In partnership with the Alameda Unified School District, the PAL program brings professional world music and dance performances to local schools. Its mission is to foster cultural awareness, celebrate diversity, and empower underserved youth through the arts.
Kiwanis members volunteer as chaperones during the performances. While they love watching the vibrant shows, they say the best part is seeing how excited and engaged the elementary school students are.
Since its launch in 2012, PAL has reached more than 115,000 young people across the Bay Area. Kiwanians were among the original founding members of Rhythmix Cultural Works and continue to champion its mission today.
Additional PAL supporters include the California Arts Council, Quest Foundation, Alameda County Arts Commission, Alameda Community Fund, Alameda Education Foundation, Alameda Welfare Council, Radium Presents, Rotary Club of Alameda, and many generous individuals throughout the community.
