Around the Town
As my byline indicates, I was all over our great city this week and found a bunch of “stuff” to share with you.
But first, I have an important MOUF FOR MAYOR campaign announcement to share. I recently picked up the endorsement of Alex the cat, which is so important because it shows my support for the feline community. (Note: I think the correct word is tolerance and only if treats are available). Also, I still have a bunch of stickers if you want one. I realize there is a lot of controversy around the use of artificial intelligence, but I have found BarkGPT to be a great resource for answering so many questions. Take this license plate I saw while picking up a burrito at my favorite shop. According to BarkGPT, this plate was issued by the State of Mexico. It also let me know that the State of Mexico surrounds much of Mexico City. So, it’s kinda like the City of Alameda located within the County of Alameda. Oh, and it commented, “If you saw this car in Alameda, it has traveled a considerable distance – roughly 1,900 road miles from the State of Mexico.” How did she know I was in Alameda? Weird!
In a coincidental continuation of the auto theme, there were some pretty unique vehicles on Alameda streets. There was the “wind-up” car in the CVS parking lot, and according to my human companion, some rare finds including a DeLorean and a beautiful white Maserati. Personally, I am not into cars. As long as it has a window that can roll down and is operable, I am good
Another great use of AI is in creating—or in this case, cleaning up—a photo of this egret sculpture. I asked her if she could remove just the phone lines. It took 15 seconds. Amazing.
Students at The Phillips Academy have a great project going that I wanted to get behind. They are putting emergency kits together to give to members of the community. I am going to see if they can use a big box of Milk-Bone® biscuits.
