Alameda Islanders Special Olympics soccer team offers special thanks to Oakland Roots
To the Editor:
After finishing a successful soccer sports cycle, the players and coaches of the Alameda Islanders Special Olympics soccer team would like to thank the Oakland Roots for use of their practice field over the weeks-long season.
Special thanks go to Islanders’ Head Coach Richard, assisted by coaches Tyler, Lucy, Jack, Elizabeth, and Pat. At the end of their final practice at the Roots’ field, players celebrated with their coaches, learned more basic soccer skills, and shot goals.
The Islanders move on to bowling as their next sport in the sequence. Coach Tyler Cobb manages the Islanders’ sports schedule.
