Starting Monday, April 7, ferry service schedule changes will take effect on the Oakland & Main Street Alameda route, the Alameda Seaplane route, and the Oakland-Alameda water shuttle between Bohol Circle Immigrant Park and Jack London Square. These changes include adjustments that will address afternoon scheduling gaps on some routes, improve trip cadence, and increase system reliability.
Changes that will affect Alameda riders include departure time adjustments between 5-10 minutes for afternoon trips across most routes, new midday trips on the Alameda Seaplane route, and later weekday evening departures from San Francisco on the Oakland-Alameda Main Street and Alameda Seaplane ferry routes.
These schedule changes will be effective from Monday, April 7, through Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Oakland & Main Street Alameda
Weekdays, westbound to San Francisco:
- Most afternoon departures from Main Street Alameda are being adjusted 5-10 minutes to improve stop spacing between trips.
- During the mid-afternoon, some trips will no longer serve the Main Street Alameda Terminal. For service between San Francisco and Alameda during the midday, refer to the Alameda Seaplane ferry route.
- Morning eastbound trips will remain unchanged.
Weekdays, eastbound to Main Street Alameda:
- Most afternoon departures to Oakland & Main Street Alameda are being adjusted 5-10 minutes to improve stop spacing between trips.
- During the mid-afternoon, some trips will no longer serve the Main Street Alameda Terminal. For midday service between San Francisco and Alameda, refer to the Alameda Seaplane ferry route.
- Morning eastbound trips will remain unchanged.
Weekends, westbound to San Francisco:
No changes. Trip times will remain the same.
Weekends, eastbound to Oakland & Main Street Alameda:
The 9:40 p.m. trip will be changed to depart 35 minutes later. The new departure time of this trip will be 10:15 p.m.
Alameda Short Hop
Due to the above departure time adjustments, Short Hop trips between the Main Street Alameda and Oakland Terminals will be affected. View the changes in the redlined schedule.
Alameda Seaplane
Weekdays, westbound to San Francisco:
Two new mid-afternoon trips will depart the Alameda Seaplane Lagoon at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Weekdays, eastbound to Alameda Seaplane :
- A new mid-afternoon trip will depart S.F. at 2:30 PM.
- The last three evening departures are being adjusted to improve trip spacing and will depart S.F. at 8:10 PM, 9:00 PM & 10:30 PM.
Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle
Wednesday and Thursday:
Trip departures in both directions are being adjusted to better align with rider patterns throughout the day.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday:
A new trip will depart Oakland Jack London Square at 9:10 p.m. and will arrive at Alameda Bohol Circle Immigrant Park at 9:17 p.m.
