The City of Alameda is seeking community feedback on improving safety at the Gibbons Drive/High Street/Fernside Boulevard intersection. Starting on Monday, September 22, the City will share studies, documentation, and a survey online. Staff and consultants will share findings from a traffic study evaluating design alternatives for the intersection, and gather feedback on design and phasing recommendations.

Share your feedback and ideas on the following dates:
- September 25: Community Open House
- September 30: Virtual Workshop.
- October 22: Transportation Commission Zoom Meeting.

Community Open House
Thursday, September 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.
Join a presentation in City Council Chambers (third floor), followed by an open house on the second floor of City Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Learn more, weigh in on intersection updates, and share your ideas for traffic calming in the broader neighborhood near Gibbons Drive. Snacks and children’s coloring table provided.
Virtual Public Workshop
Tuesday, September 30, Noon-1 p.m., Zoom webinar.
Prefer a virtual setting? In this lunchtime workshop, you can hear the same presentation, ask questions, and share your thoughts. The City is studying design concept options to improve safety at the intersection of Gibbons Drive/High Street/Fernside Boulevard, based on findings from a recent traffic study. Transportation Commission Meeting
Wednesday, October 22, 6:30 p.m., City Council Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.
The Transportation Commission will review staff recommendations and a summary of public input from the open house, virtual workshop, and survey. The agenda will be posted on the agendas database and the community members can provide public comment in person, via Zoom, or by emailing written comments to [email protected].
