Ellen Katherine Larson Paisal, Andrew Paisal Jr.

Ellen Katherine Larson Paisal and Andrew Paisal Jr., passed away on February 4 and February 2, 2026. Our parents were deeply loved by our family, including our big brother Andy who has been waiting patiently for them so he can resume watching the Giants games with our dad. Patty and Regan Paisal, our chosen brother Steve Ballard, grandchildren, Jackie, Brittany, Najee, Alex, Jalia, Haley, and Josef. Great grandchildren, AJ, Caden, Alessia, Conner and Andy. To say we deeply miss them is too small.

Our mom, Ellen, was a social being, traveling throughout the world, intrigued to meet people across the globe. Her last trip was in August 2025 with National Geographic on a cruise to Alaska. She was a child herself when she had our brother Andy, who took the journey to heaven before our parents. She worked and played in Alameda, and was friends with everyone from landscapers to politicians. She was a bra-burning liberal to the core and not afraid to let everyone know it.

To us, our dad was Father of the Year 90 times. We knew he loved us deeply. He had the most beautiful blue eyes and wore a sheepish grin when he was up to no good. He made us breakfast every morning before school, had water fights with us, loved all our friends, and loved his family completely.

We want to thank our parents’ best friends for all the good times we had growing up. June Ogden and Lori Nolthenius were side-by-side with mom for over 60 years. Steve Ballard and Jim Dillion were deeply loved by our dad and have been in our lives forever. We want to thank everyone that our parents were friends with. You are all wonderful people and we understand why they were friends with you. To all the neighbors on Grove and Jackson streets, thank you. You were amazing neighbors, so kind to our parents and to us.

Our parents requested no formal services. Do something nice for yourself.
