City Attorney’s Office Offers Fair Housing Workshop April 17

The Alameda City Attorney’s Office is presenting the fifth annual Alameda Fair Housing Workshop on Thursday, April 17, 9 a.m. to noon, at City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, in the Council Chambers (third floor).

Tenants, property owners, and property managers are encouraged to attend the free workshop, which will provide helpful information on local housing issues, including:

  • Immigrant tenant protections.
  • What Is Illegal Retaliation?
  • Utilities and billing.
  • Eviction rules and tenants’ rights.
  • City Attorney’s mediation program and other resources.

Speakers include L.D. Louis from the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) director Leah Simon-Weisberg, Fair Housing attorney Gary Rhoades, Bay Area Legal Aid attorney Linda Galbreth, ECHO Fair Housing Coordinator Angie Watson-Hajjem, and City of Alameda professional staff.

Refreshments will be served.
