APD, Make-A-Wish Bring Magic to Local Little Girl

Alameda Police Department (APD) enlisted the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation to bring magic to our island over the weekend, turning one child’s dream of going to Disneyland into a reality.

What started as a small princess party with friends turned into a grand event. Sirens blared as a caravan of patrol cars, proudly serving as Princess Security, escorted real-life princesses to the celebration, according to an APD report on Facebook.

“The party was filled with sing-alongs, dancing, and a special story time,” APD reported. “The princesses read a one-of-a-kind book that ended with the biggest surprise of all—a trip to Disneyland!”

The child’s mother commented on the APD Facebook report, expressing her gratitude: “Thank you for your support in helping make our daughter’s wish come true and celebrating with her!”

APD responded in kind: “We couldn’t be happier to be there!” the department commented. “Thank you for having us along for the ride.”

APD also offered “a heartfelt thank you’ to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the incredible work they do.

“It was an honor for us to be included in this magical moment,” APD stated.

And now the magic will continue at the Magic Kingdom.
