Math Puzzle for July 25, 2025

Given our political climate, any serious discussion is at risk of going off on a tangent

Alameda Post - a math diagram in which Two intersecting lines are tangent to two circles

Two intersecting lines are tangent to two circles and form an angle of 74°.
The circles have area ratios of 36 to 25.
The distance from the point of tangency on the large circle to the point of intersection is a.
From the point of intersection to the point of tangency on the small circle is b.

Given a = 5x + 9 and b = 4x + 11, find the area of the large AL circle and the area of the small AS circle.
