‘Illuminate’

This poem is dedicated to the world. There is an extreme amount of sadness and distress that is being felt everywhere. May we all find peace and become it. May we all shine our lights on each other.

Alameda Post - an image that says "Illuminate"

Illuminate

A huge space without lights.

A distant scream that causes fright.

Cries and eerie noises are coming from every part of the world.

Spooky thoughts.

Scared children.

Petrified parents.

Halloween every day? Every night?

Something just isn’t right.

Replay, rewind, fast forward.

Since this is real life …

Who has the controller?

This all seems way too familiar.

Disturbing.

Taps on the shoulder start to feel like earthquakes.

Store run? What’s the risk?

I’m hoping for the remainder of the year we will get all treats, no tricks.

Less sadness.

More peace and kindness.

More love, more bliss.

I heard joy comes in the morning.

I’m hoping daylight saving provides more hours, more pleasant moments to live and not just exist.

Deepest condolences and prayers to those we miss.

This world needs healing

and people

willing

to be

luminous.
