Join AEF to Help Make Local Students “Equipped 4 Success”

The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) is raising funds for its annual “Equipped 4 Success” school supply drive for Alameda TK – 12th grade students. This year, AEF will be providing new backpacks and grade-level appropriate school supplies for 750 students in need at AUSD school sites as well as at the Alameda Point Collaborative and Operation Dignity.

“Getting new backpacks and school supplies not only helps prepare students for success in school, but it also generates excitement for starting school and helps students fit in with their more affluent peers,” stated AEF Executive Director Vicki Sedlack. “We are always conscientious about providing quality supplies that are appropriate for the various grade levels,” Sedlack continued.

Since 2012, AEF has run the annual drive, providing over 13,000 new backpacks and school supplies to Alameda students over the years. AEF works with AUSD school sites and community partners to determine what are the greatest needs each year. School sites and nonprofit organizations then distribute the backpacks and supplies to students prior to the start of school.
