Since 1928, the Alameda Welfare Council (AWC) has been a cornerstone of community support, dedicated to improving the welfare of Alameda residents. Founded as an all-volunteer organization, the AWC has a long tradition of raising funds and awareness for causes that benefit the city, partnering with local nonprofits to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
This year marks the 97th Annual Summer Faire, AWC’s largest fundraiser of the year. Scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2025, the event will take place at the historic Albert H. DeWitt Officers’ Club (O’ Club), 641 W Red Line Ave, Alameda. Festivities run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a buffet lunch served at 12:30 PM by Asena.
Tickets are $100 per person, granting entry to the event, access to a vibrant marketplace, and lunch. The marketplace will feature local pop-up vendors and curated shopping booths, including home and garden, jewelry and purses, and the ever-popular country store. Guests can also enjoy a cash bar, bid on unique items in the Silent Auction, and try their luck with raffle tickets, available during the luncheon or from AWC board members.
The Summer Faire is more than a social gathering — it’s a chance for residents to directly contribute to the well-being of their neighbors. Proceeds benefit nonprofits that serve Alameda, helping sustain vital community programs and services.
