Alameda Kiwanis Foundation community grants are entirely funded by a local Kiwanis fundraiser. This year’s fundraiser was the annual Kiwanis Chili Cookoff held last January 27 at the Albert H. DeWitt Officers’ Club on Alameda Point. It was a sellout crowd, with more than 200 people in attendance. In addition to the chili tastings and all the other food and fun that went along with it, the event raised more than $20,000 to be distributed as grants to local nonprofits.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
