Three Sea Level Rise Adaptation Community Workshops in August

The Oakland Alameda Adaptation Committee (OAAC) is holding three community workshops in August to gather input and discuss Alameda shoreline resilience efforts in our local plans for sea level rise. Community participation is crucial in shaping a resilient future for our shoreline.

The three-hour workshops will provide an opportunity to learn about current adaptation plans, share your thoughts and feedback, and engage with agency leaders and experts. Each informational workshop will include an overview of all the current adaptation projects with a deep dive into a particular shoreline area.

Workshops will be held on three dates:

  • August 3, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Estuary Project (Alameda focus). REAP Climate Center, 2133 Tynan Ave., Alameda. RSVP online.
  • August 12, 5:30 to 8 p.m.: Bay Farm Island Project. Leydecker Recreation Center, 3221 Mecartney Rd., Alameda (Bay Farm Island). RSVP online.
  • August 15, 5:30 to 8 p.m.: Estuary Project (Oakland focus). Port of Oakland Community Room, 530 Water St., Oakland. RSVP online.

Registration (RSVP) is encouraged but not required, unless you need childcare or translation services. Refreshments will be served.
