On Thursday, July 20, at around 3:30 p.m., the Alameda Police Department (APD) received a call about an object along the shoreline near the Bay Farm Island bridge, according to their most recent Facebook post.
APD officers responded and confirmed that the object was that of human remains, the post stated. APD investigators were called to the scene and began their investigation. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau also responded to initiate a death investigation.

Users have been posting photos and videos to social media which the Post is not sharing because they cannot be verified.
