Applications Open for Poppy Place Studio Apartments

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is now accepting housing wait list pre-applications for studio apartments at Poppy Place at 1628 Webster St., in West Alameda. The 370- to 400-square-foot studio apartments—located in the refurbished complex that used to be Hawthorn Suites—are suitable for one or two people, with monthly rents ranging from $518 to $1,554, including utilities, depending on income.

Each studio has an individual bathroom and kitchenette. Amenities include an onsite laundry, a community room and patio, limited on-site parking, secure bicycle parking, an elevator, pet friendly housing, resident services, and an onsite Property Manager.

All single adults or family households (regardless of age) are eligible to apply. The application period opened Monday, October 2 at 9 a.m. and ends on Sunday, October 22, at 8 p.m. Interested applicants can submit housing wait list pre-applications for Poppy Place via the Alameda County Housing Portal.

Income limits apply. Poppy Place will be available to households earning up to 60% of Area Median Income (AMI). 20% of (AMI) for a one-person household is $20,720; for a two-person household it is $23,680. 60% of AMI for a one-person household is $62,160; for a two-person household it is $71,040.
