Shaelan Murison kicked off the scoring for the Soul in the 12th minute after receiving a perfect through ball from Miranda Nild that left her one-on-one with the Olympic Club keeper. Murison buried it home to make it 1-0 in front of the sold-out home crowd.

In the 23rd minute, the Soul doubled their lead thanks to a beautiful lob pass to the right side from Sam Tran that gave Manaka Hayashi room to run. The Olympic Club keeper charged to attempt a save but Tran slipped it past into the abandoned net to give the Oakland side a 2-0 lead.

Just moments later, Nild earned her second assist of the match, this time finding Arianna Veland up the middle. Vealnd won her duel with the keeper to extend the Soul lead to 3-0. Murison made it 4-0 in the 34th minute with an absolute rocket into the top right corner past the outstretched hands of the Olympic Club keeper.

In the second half, the Soul kept rolling, adding to their lead in the 56th minute when Hayashi scored a goal of her own to make it 5-0.

Goals from Jordan Geis and Sydney Shepherd in the 79th and 87th minutes finished the flood of Soul scoring on the day, as Oakland rolled into the final whistle with their second clean sheet in as many games this season.

The Oakland Soul will return home to Merritt College for their next USLW match on Thursday, May 23, to face visiting Marin FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
