RADIUM Runway 2023 Opening

Did you get out to Alameda Point last Saturday for the RADIUM Runway 2023 Opening Event and Opening Night celebrations? During the day, the space was open to the public, with food trucks and dancing while DJ Raul played music. Then, later in the evening Javier Navarrete and his Socially Distant Friends played live music, and DJ Jose Ruiz of KPFA manned the decks, while everyone danced even more.

The new space, located next to Seaplane Lagoon—part of the West End District’s new Taxiway Mural project—is defined by shipping containers painted with bright colors and a series of murals called “Life of Flight.” The location is intended to be home to a new performing arts center called RADIUM. While fundraising and planning take place, a whole calendar of events is planned through the middle of October to help activate the space. Visit the RADIUM Runway website for more information about upcoming events and to get involved in RADIUM Runway 2023 and beyond.
