Sweet puppy love at OAK; get a love letter or write a love letter
Valentine’s Day is all about sharing love—and it’s easy to do this year. Just stop at one of the special red mailboxes around town to get (or send) a love letter. Or soak up some puppy love at the airport from some of the sweetest therapy dogs you can imagine.

Look around town for five red mailboxes labeled, “Get a Love Letter – Write a Love Letter.” Open one up and enjoy a sweet Valentine message. Then make someone else’s day by leaving a sweet note. We all need a little love.
The boxes are located on Santa Clara Avenue near Fifth Street, Pacific Avenue at Morton Street, Versailles Avenue between Yosemite and Buena Vista avenues, and Park Avenue between Encinal and San Jose avenues. Get out there and share some love!

If you’re traveling—or just feel like moseying over to Oakland International Airport (OAK)—you’re in for a special treat. Valley Humane Society’s Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy team will be there to make sure you get some sweet puppy love. Five adorable dogs—Peach, Bailey, Karli, Ketchum, and Torrie—will be decked out in Valentine’s Day outfits, along with their volunteer owners.
“We appreciate the valuable service provided by the Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy team, and we thank them for spreading the love at OAK,” said Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “We hope that passengers enjoy their special visit.”

Valley Humane Society, located in Pleasanton, California, brings animals to places other pets can’t go, sharing the unconditional love that pets offer and creating opportunities for people to experience the love of a pet. Sharing their own beloved companions, Valley Humane Society Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy volunteers team up with their dogs to improve the lives of others through our community by visiting medical facilities, schools, and retirement homes.
And that’s not all. Airport employees are joining in on the fun, passing out Valentine’s cards to families traveling with children throughout the day, and there is a Valentine’s Day balloon arch placed in pre-security Terminal 1 for festive photos.
Enjoy the holiday—and be sure to hug someone you love, furry or not.
