ARPD needs your input
The City of Alameda anticipates having about $75,000 to create a new dog park facility at Clement/Tilden Park—and they want your input. Would you prefer natural grass or artificial turf made especially for dog parks? Is a drinking fountain a top priority? How about some shade? Should there be trees or shade structures?
Please help ARPD (and your doggies) by taking the online survey. It only takes about five to 10 minutes. ARPD welcomes all feedback and ideas.
A variety of options are available and four-legged families across the island have many different priorities, but a limited budget will only allow Alameda Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) to customize the new park with a limited number of amenities.
In addition, the City is looking at developing a smaller triangular space to be located between Broadway, Clement Avenue, and Tilden Way. Several different concepts are under consideration, including an open plaza gathering space with seating, space for half-court basketball, or green space for gathering with picnic amenities.
Here are the dimensions for the two parks:
- Square footage for the Clement/Tilden Dog Park will be 10,000 square feet.
- Square footage for the small triangular park will be approximately 7,600 square feet.
Construction is expected in mid-2024.
ARPD needs your help and input to prioritize amenities at the new dog park as well as features of the small park space in order to make sure our community’s highest priorities are being addressed.
