First Christmas concert since 2019
It’s back! The First Congregational Church of Alameda will host its 141st Annual Christmas concert on December 17 at 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The “Always Believe” concert will be the church’s first annual holiday concert since the pandemic.
Free and open to all, the concert will celebrate the awe of the Christmas season across musical genres, featuring the Chancel Choir, Resounding Joy Handbell Choir, soloists, duets, carols, steel drums, and other instruments.
A goodwill offering will be taken to benefit Alameda’s Midway Shelter and the church’s other ministries. Midway Shelter provides a safe and supportive environment for women and children suffering from homelessness and domestic violence.
The First Congregational Church is located at 1912 Central Ave. (at Chestnut Street) and is wheelchair accessible. Hearing aids also are available, as are large print programs.
