The Alameda Yankees scored a total of 60-0 at the recent Little League Tournament of Champions
The Alameda Yankees beat the Clayton Valley Vipers 13-0 in the final championship game of the League Tournament of Champions, held Saturday, June 17 at Rittler Park in Alameda.

The Yankees crushed opposing teams in the first three rounds of the Tournament before heading to the Championship game to face off against the Clayton Valley Vipers. In the decisive game, the Yankees’ Darren Hurst pitched a no-hitter and supported his own cause by hitting an over-the-fence homerun. When the game was over, the final score was Yankees 13, Vipers 0.

The Yankees didn’t allow a single run during their dominant championship run, scoring 60 runs over the four games during the tournament. To reach the final game, they handily defeated the Pinole Hercules Dynamite, East County Pirates, and North Oakland Oaks.
The team’s victory was celebrated ecstatically by the players and their families. All were thankful for a great season and the support the players all showed for each other. Yet the victory is a bittersweet one for the Yankees—many of the players are aging out of the Little League and moving on to older leagues and as such different teams.
Our congratulations to the Yankees on an amazing run and a well-earned championship.
