Pet of the Week for January 27, 2024; Come to the foster open house today at Fortmann Way
For our first Pet of the Week, we figured we’d go big! Today, we bring you one of our favorites – Mork!
[1]At 105 pounds, this one-year-old Dogo Argentino [2] is our biggest dog, but he seems to think he is a lapdog. We let him hang out with us in our offices and he loves to snuggle in close. If he could, he would be on our laps all the time.
We have joked that he would be great for someone who thinks their head looks too big in photos; his huge head would make anyone’s head seem smaller as he strikes a happy pose for the camera. In addition to that “perk,” he’s a super sweet, fun, good boy with an endearing smile. And he’s striking to behold! He seems to be good with other dogs and would likely be fine in a household with kids.
His sister is here at the shelter, too [3]. Her name is Mindy. She is a carbon copy, just a little smaller than her brother, and if possible, she has an even more amazing smile.

Urgent need for fosters; expedited process
Currently at the shelter, there are zero kennels left for dogs, and even our isolation kennels will soon be full. FAAS needs the community’s help so they can keep their doors open for the stray and lost dogs who will land at our doorstep with nowhere else to go in the coming days and weeks.
To help empty the shelter, FAAS is hosting a Foster Open House where you can come in and be matched with a dog in an expedited foster process. If you’ve ever wanted to try fostering, this is the time! Your commitment doesn’t have to be long. Just enough to get us through this kennel shortage. The dogs will be grateful for a little vacation from kennel life and you will have helped us get through this emergency.
[7]FAAS will provide everything you need, including food, bowls, walking equipment, dog bed, and toys, as well as behavior support. Plus, FAAS will cover any medical expenses as well.
