We have grown from a startup to Alameda’s leading online news source in just one year.
Happy first anniversary to us! The Alameda Post published our first article on this day, December 13, one year ago. We have enjoyed an exciting year of growth as the city’s daily source for online news and information. In our first year we have seen some amazing statistics.

Starting from nothing, we have accomplished so much to be proud of:

- Almost 125,000 unique visitors came to AlamedaPost.com [3] over the last eleven months.

- Nearly two-thirds of those visitors to the site were using a mobile device.
- We have published almost 500 posts [5], from more than 60 bylines.
- Our first post was published on Dec 13, 2021.
- Our most viewed page so far this year was for our Candidate Forums.

- The site received almost 400,000 impressions in Google Search [9] in November 2022.

- We created a reach of more than 60,000 users on Facebook [11], including over 1,100 engaged page followers.
- We have over 1,100 followers on Instagram [12], too, who take advantage of our smart.bio page [13] to click through to read articles.
- Nearly 1,500 people subscribe to our weekly newsletter [14], and, 41 issues later, nearly two-thirds open and read their copy every week.
- Since launching 31 episodes (and two specials!) ago, we have recorded more than 5,000 listens to our Alameda PostCast podcast [15] hosted by Scott Piehler.

- 475 people attended 21 history walking tours [17] led by Dennis Evanosky.
- Almost 300 events have been posted to our community calendar [18].
- 175 people made donations or became members [19].
- Nearly 100 people attended each of our two candidate forums [20], with another 1K views on YouTube [21].
- And finally, we were recognized this week as a 501(c)(3) public charity by the IRS. What a way to finish our first year!
