Alameda Kiwanis Foundation to Award $100,000 in Scholarships

Application deadline extended to April 24

To celebrate 100 years of service in Alameda, the Kiwanis Foundation is awarding $100,000 to graduating seniors at Alameda high schools. The scholarships are for tuition and related expenses for full-time students at accredited institutions, and are paid directly to the school. The deadline to apply has been extended from April 9 to April 24 to give more students the opportunity to apply, according to Denise Gasti, past president and current secretary of the Kiwanis Foundation.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Alameda Post - logo for Kiwanis Club of America [2]Applications, which may downloaded online [3], must be completed and signed, and must be accompanied by an official high school transcript (sealed), proof that FASFA or Dream Act application has been filed, a personal statement, and completed financial questionnaire. A letter of recommendation is suggested but not required. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
