Looking for a sweet, laid-back, loving dog who would qualify for AARP if he were a human and will give you all of his big heart? Nine-year-old Bordeaux [1] may be just the pooch you’ve been waiting for!
[2]Bordeaux is an affectionate gentleman whose dear face is dappled with kisses of white these days. And speaking of kisses, he’s been thriving in a foster home, and loves giving his kind family plenty of sweet kisses.
His heart is so full of love that he likes to sleep with their slippers when given the chance. That lucky slipper could be yours in the future if you give him a forever home.
Another endearing trait: Bordeaux sometimes carries his food bowl in his mouth when it’s time for a meal. It’s positively heart-melting.
As a senior who understandably likes his peace and quiet, Bordeaux’s ideal home would have no small pets or human toddlers.
While at FAAS [3]—which wasn’t quiet—Bordeaux was a huge favorite of volunteer dog walkers. They miss him but are happy he’s currently in a temporary home, getting the loving environment he deeply deserves.

[4]His fosters say “he’s a great senior dog who appreciates treats and a soft spot to nap.” They also offer these insights into this sweet dog they adore (but can’t keep forever):
- He’s a very sweet gentleman and greets people gently. Once he knows you, he gives you plenty of kisses.
- He walks gently on leash, and often decides where he wants to walk.
- He is indifferent to people and other dogs he sees while on a walk. (Like most dogs, however, he will try to chase squirrels!)
- He loves to be near his human.
- He loves to nap outside in a sunny spot.
- When he’s excited, he prances around with his favorite bowl in his mouth.
- He knows commands such as sit, shake, spin, down, and roll over. He’s a very smart boy.
- He can be left alone uncrated in the house with no issues.
- He’s 100% house trained. No accidents.
