Pet of the Week for September 12, 2026
At just over a year old, Milo [1] is still young enough to approach life with the enthusiasm of a kid discovering everything for the first time. This sweet Black Mouth Cur mix loves to play, loves his people, and has a goofy personality that is hard not to smile at.
During a recent foster stay, Milo quickly made himself at home. He curled up beside his foster family on the couch, happily rested his head in a hand during a car ride, and slept close by at night. He is affectionate and gentle with people, with the kind of easygoing nature that makes him a wonderful companion.
Milo also discovered that having a canine friend makes life even more fun. He got along beautifully with his foster dog sibling, playing enthusiastically while still keeping things friendly and appropriate. He even did a great job matching his buddy’s play style. At an empty park, the two dogs had a chance to run and explore, and Milo clearly loved every minute of it.
For all his youthful energy, Milo knows how to listen. He knows basic commands, sits reliably, comes when called, and responds well to his people. He also settled into his foster home without a single potty accident.
Milo is playful, curious, affectionate, and just plain fun to have around. He could thrive in many types of homes, and a playful dog companion would be a wonderful bonus.
For anyone looking for a loving young dog who brings both laughter and plenty of cuddles, Milo may be the one you’ve been waiting to meet.
