Lexi is Looking for Love

Pet of the Week for July 18, 2026

At first glance, Lexi [1] may seem a little reserved as she takes in the world around her. Walks are still a learning experience for this sweet girl—she’s the type of dog who likes to stop, observe, and process new sights and sounds before moving forward.

While she’s gaining confidence every day, Lexi is happiest in a secure backyard where she can truly relax. Give her a sunny spot in the yard, and you’ll quickly discover Lexi’s favorite pastime—soaking up the sunshine. Once she’s had her chance to relax, don’t be surprised if she suddenly bursts into a case of joyful zoomies, racing around the yard with pure happiness. It’s the perfect combination of peaceful and playful, and it’s impossible not to smile while watching her.

At home, Lexi is everything you could hope for in a companion. She’s fully house-trained, loves being part of the family, and forms deep, lasting bonds with the people she trusts. She thrives on a predictable routine, gentle encouragement, and plenty of affection.

While Lexi enjoys playing with other dogs in outdoor settings, she prefers to be the only dog in the household. She has, however, done well meeting a cat and may be a good fit for a cat-savvy home with thoughtful introductions.

Lexi isn’t looking for a perfect family; she’s simply looking for one that’s willing to meet her where she is. In return, she’ll offer unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and the kind of love that grows stronger with every passing day.

If you’ve been searching for a devoted best friend with a playful side and a heart full of love, Lexi is waiting to meet you. Meet her at FAAS, 1590 Fortmann Way, Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed daily from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for naptime.
