That heavy traffic can lead to accidents, some of which may be caused or worsened by poor visibility. Many traffic accidents could be avoided by following these basic safety tips that can help to avoid or deal with poor visibility while driving, especially when the morning sun causes glare.

- Watch out for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists.
- Adjust travel plans—time or route—to avoid sun glare.
- If you really can’t see due to glare or windshield conditions, safely pull over and wait until you can see. It’s not worth the risk.
