Curbside EV Chargers are coming to Alameda
The City of Alameda has partnered with It’s Electric [13] to install the city’s first public curbside EV chargers. This milestone marks the beginning of an innovative collaboration that will expand access to EV charging across the island, allowing those who lack access to home charging to charge right in their neighborhood—and in many cases, right on their block.
The ribbon-cutting for the first installed chargers with Alameda Housing Authority (AHA) will be held on Monday, September 22, at 11 a.m. at 2477 Eagle Avenue. The event is open to the public. RSVP online [14].
Get started. To use an It’s Electric charger, download the official “It’s Electric” app and request a cable. Drivers will be provided with a personal cable (fully compatible with their vehicle) at no cost. Cable distribution by It’s Electric will begin this month in advance of the chargers going live.
To charge on the network or host a charger at your home, sign up on the wait list [15]. The chargers are installed and maintained at no cost to the property owner and share a portion of charging revenue back to the property owner. Joining the wait list will also alert you when chargers are installed within walking distance of your house.
[16]Save thousands when you get your EV before September 30
The $7,500 federal EV tax credit will be gone after September 30. Don’t miss out!
