Free Alameda Point Weekend Shuttle Launches Saturday, July 27

The Island Hopper, a new free weekend shuttle around Alameda Point [1], launches this Saturday, July 27, and will run for 10 weeks, ending on Sunday, September 29.

The shuttle will run every 10-20 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 7:30 pm, supplementing AC Transit [3] Line 96 [4] and connecting riders with popular Alameda Point destinations and events, Spirits Alley [5] businesses, the Main Street Ferry Terminal [6], and the new Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle [7].

There are three shuttle routes: the green Alameda Point route, the blue Ferry route, and the yellow Water Shuttle route. The Island Hopper is ADA accessible, and bicycles are welcome.

Shuttle Stops

The Island Hopper will include the following stops (see map):

A: West Monarch Street (Dashe Cellars, Urban Legend Cellars).

B: Midway Avenue (St. George Spirits, Building 43 Winery, Faction Brewing).

C: Saratoga Street (Storehouse Lofts, Saltbreaker, Humble Sea Brewing Co., Malaya Botanicals).

D: West Tower Avenue (Almanac Beer Company, Firebrand Artisan Breads [9], The Rake at Admiral Maltings, Alameda Naval Air Museum, DOER Marine Store).

E: West Atlantic Avenue (Seaplane Lagoon Promenade, RADIUM Runway [10], Aero Apartments).

F: Main Street Ferry Terminal.

G: East Monarch Street (St. George Spirits, Building 43 Winery, Faction Brewing).

H: Fifth Street (Target, Alameda Landing Shopping Center, Safeway, Alameda Landing Express Shuttle).

I: Water Shuttle (Bohol Circle Immigrant Park, Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle [11]).

The Island Hopper is funded by the Alameda Transportation Management Association [12] (TMA) with money from Alameda Point residents and businesses. The water shuttle is free to ride and is designed to support local businesses and provide more transportation choices to and from Alameda Point.
